Project: BACK TO THE FUTURE _A continuation to this project, titled BACK TO THE FUTURE II is scheduled by Irina to appear at her official site from this month of June, 2011. Don't miss out on it! (All links to official sites and profiles are provided at the end of the feature/page).
Project: CHINI _'Chini is my friend's Chinese Crested dog. She came into my life in London, 2008 when my friends asked me to look after their house and three dogs for a month while on holidays. I had never lived with dogs, I hardly even noticed their presence until one day I took Chini into a friend's studio. I took some pictures of her and the following day, CHINI PROJECT began. For a year, I photographed her inside the little sets I would build for her where she was free to act our little human ways. Her photographic journey takes us into the very heart of the human comedy.'__Irina Werning(More on 'Chini' and 'A Day In the Life of Chini' at Irina Werning's official website -Direct links provided below)
Chini has also got her own Facebook Fan Page! Join it through the link provided at the end of this page.
Project: MISTERY MURDER IN BUENOS AIRES (1940) _One of Irina's favourite artists is the late Diane Arbus, an American photographer and writer noted for her black-and-white photographs of marginal people, and what was considered surreal appearance and nature (usually described nowadays as freaks). In 1972, a year after she committed suicide, Arbus became the first American photographer to have photographs displayed at the Venice Biennale.[9]
Mystery Murder in Buenos Aires, 1940(Original title: Un misterioso asesinato en Buenos Aires, 1940) is a perfect example of the cinematic quality embedded in Irina's projects, which trascends the aesthetical, and which transports the observer into the narrative, as if the story was unfolding almost with the same tense intensity and cadence that a high quality motion picture by suspense master Hitchcock is able to trasmit.
